[The note itself is wrapped in a thin layer of cellophane - in order to keep it from becoming a sticky candy mess - folded up on itself in a neat square. When it's unfurled, there's a few paragraphs hastily written by hand on it.]
Think of each universe like a recorded movie. Normally, the movie keeps going on, shitty plots keep going, people die, whatever. But you can't change the movie when it's already fucking recorded, because of course you fucking can't. You weren't on the damn set when it was being filmed, so there's nothing you can do. And it always ends the same way no matter what.
But what if you're watching the movie and the actor wanders off in the middle of a shot to go get lunch off set?
That's fucking impossible, right? And the entire movie would stall because Mr. Hoity Toity's gone. Everything completely stopped.
If we go on that assumption, then each universe is currently 'paused' while we do what we're doing. Simple. And while the actor's off set they can flip through the 'script' they have in order to experience what's going to happen later on in the movie, but they haven't actually 'filmed' it yet. And some actors wander off the set when they're already ahead or behind in the script.
Think you got a handle on it, troll kid?
